The music for symphony orchestra was composed and produced by Kim Märkl.
The Secret Box sweeps us into the violin shop of Nicolò Amati in seventeenth century Italy. It is a story of the passion the young violin apprentice Rafael has for his treasured instrument, the violin. The master violin builder Amati also carries a secret wish in his heart. The story and music take the listener on a journey into the magic of the violin and the mystery of the past.

The Secret Box can also be performed live. Composed originally for violin, narrator and string orchestra there is also a version for violin, narrator and piano suitable for smaller and medium sized halls. The music is often lyrical, sometimes virtuosic and features the violin with all its wonderful possibilities; suited equally for students and professional violinist. It can be performed in parts by different students or in whole by an advanced student.
